I had two wine coolers at 7pm(I hardly drink) felt sober at 10pm and drank 1/4 of 64ounce water(if thats important) afterwards. I slept at 12am. (I felt chest pains but not painful. just annoying. I was too lazy to deal with it so i went to sleep) I woke up at 3am (diarrhea lol.) so i got up to the bathroom to do my ‘business’.(always gets stomach pains at night after alcohol.)

When I was done, i felt my head hurting, so i leaned on the counter. (happens all the time, even without alcohol) Instead of going away like usual, it got worse.
I felt my head going cold and my legs felt weird. I couldn’t walk(dizzy) so I kneeled against the wall, and I my breathing became really difficult, but not enough to bother me. (too focused on head). My vision went blurry. BLACKOUT!

Now here’s the funny part:
I ended up on the ground in fetal position with my head touch the ground… then somehow, I ended up on the living room couch. lol

I told my parents, before it happened again. When I felt it coming on again, I began to panic, cry and go back into fetal position. lol (panic attack maybe?)

I started to feel better. My dad told me to breath through the inhaler and i did, but it didn’t work so I just nodded and said ok. lol
i never blackouted before.
ooo i drank two wine coolers and blacked out. I’m not sure whether its low bp or the alcohol.

I plan on wearing an itty bitty denim skirt, with possibly a thong hanging out the back. I think I might mess up my hair and smudge my makeup…and of course, walk around all night chugging out of wine coolers.

I’m just curious…. I was told that it is more cost effective to keep the air conditioning on and only lower the temp when you are hot (only during the summer months, not winter). My husband wants to keep the A.C. off and only turn it on when we are hot. I think this doesn’t make sense b/c it seems like it would be harder on the unit to be starting up over and over. Which is more cost effective? Where can I find info on this so that I can show my husband (like statistics)? Thanks!

In a nutshell, a SEER rating tells you how much heat (BTU) an air conditioner can remove from a house with 1 watt of electricity. Comparing heat and electricity may seem like comparing apples and oranges, and that is why a “raw” SEER is mostly used to compare two air conditioners – the bigger the SEER, the better (more efficient) the unit.

To calculate anything else, math has to be used. At the bottom of this article there is a link to a page with a spreadsheet, which will handle all the math.

How to use the spreadsheet. It’s really very simple. Just enter how much heat you’d like to remove with the air conditioner and press “Enter.” That’s it! The spreadsheet will tell you how much it would cost to remove the heat using three different air conditioners, from an old 8-SEER unit to the top-of-the-line 16-SEER unit. The numbers account for one hour of cooling, and the electricity cost is assumed to be 6 cents per kw.

The spreadsheet does not take all the factors into account, but gives you a ballpark estimate of the electricity costs for air conditioning needs. There are three examples in the page, just follow them. One of the examples deals with cooling down a party – play with the numbers yourself and enjoy!

Now there’s no more guesswork. You know your air conditioning needs, and with this spreadsheet you can tell if savings will make up for a higher price tag on a more efficient unit.

Assume 90 deg F. outside. House is cool at 75 deg a/c setting. If the grand kids leave the door open for 5 minutes, how much heat is lost and how long does the A/C unit have to run (appx) to return to 75 deg inside?

Is there a rule of thumb to equate this loss to $$$ so I can communicate with the wife and kids? They complain that the a/c doesn’t cool but it’s fine when the kids are gone for the day. All else being constant. Thx anyone. My first time asking a Yahoo question. Hope I did it rite.
Thanks, Phillip. We have the unit serviced every spring/fall and its ok. I’m just trying to put the cost of leaving the doors open in terms of gummy bears or peanut butter cups so they will understand. Thx.
